High Blood Pressure Symptoms – How to Spot Them

By L.Barnes

The symptoms of high blood pressure are very easy to identify and there is no reason for one not to be able to recognize them when they appear. When the blood pressure is high, it results in a rise in the blood volume and this results in a rise in the pressure and so the symptoms that are being pointed out are related to this condition. There are many reasons as to why high blood pressure can occur but the common factor that is responsible for it is stress. However, there are also other reasons such as other health conditions, diet, heredity, and lifestyle.

One of the best ways of dealing with high blood pressure is through proper medication and this should be taken as soon as possible so that the effects of it can be minimized. There are prescription medicines that are given to people suffering from hypertension and this is usually prescribed alongside a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. The intake of sodium restriction is another way of dealing with the condition and this is usually done by reducing salt content in the food that is consumed.

A healthy diet is also a great way of dealing with high blood pressure. There are certain foods that should be avoided at all costs since they can contribute to the increase of the blood pressure. Some examples of these are meats such as pork, beef, and venison; eggs; carbohydrates such as breads and sweets; and fatty and sugary foods. It is always advisable to eat fresh fruits and vegetables so that we have an ample supply of fresh food on hand and this will also help in reducing the sodium content of our blood. When we consume too much salt, the pressure in the blood increases and this can lead to several complications.

There are some activities that can also cause high blood pressure like smoking and this is something that should be avoided. Not only is it bad for the smoker, it is also bad for the body since smoking has negative effects to various organs in the body. We should try to reduce the intake of alcohol in the day. When we drink alcohol, the sodium content of our blood increases which increases the pressure of the blood. Smoking is a big no-no since it affects not only the smoker but also the entire family. It is very important to stop smoking because it is bad for our health.

Dehydration is yet another thing that causes high blood pressure. This can be avoided by drinking plenty of water everyday which is advisable. We should try to avoid caffeine and alcohol because they can dehydrate us. The best option would be to drink herbal tea that has a mild laxative effect and can hydrate us. Ginger and nettle tea are good examples of such teas.

Stress is one of the other things that causes high blood pressure. If we are constantly stressed out, there is a tendency that we will accumulate more pressure in our system. We should try to relax and de-stress as much as we can. Meditation is a good way to reduce stress. Aromatherapy is another thing that can calm us down.
